A Golf Tour in Egypt

Travelers feel that a tour to Egypt is just one great escapade where they are led to different knowledgeable locations like museums or are lured by historical sites and ancient sites. Well, that’s true. What they fail to note is that there is more. For instance, there is the deep sea diving of the Red Sea Riviera, there is the spiritual history of the Sinai Peninsula, there are the impressive natural tours of the Western Desert, and there are the incredible golf courses dotting the entire landscape.

Interestingly enough, many visitors plan a golfing tour to Egypt to coincide with a visit to some historical sites too.For instance, a golf tour of Cairo might allow the traveler to play through on a green overlooking the famous Giza Plateau and the majestic pyramids. There are tours in the area near Karnak and Luxor, and many options near beautiful Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh too.

So, how does someone interested in experiencing golfing in Egypt decide where to start? It usually begins with the golfer choosing their central location. For example, a golfer in Cairo would have access to the nation’s oldest course located at the famous Mena House property. They would also have a handful of five-star resort locations with courses open to visitors as well.

The city of Alexandria is home to many famous historic sites, gorgeous parks and gardens, and some lovely golf courses open to leisure and business travelers too. As an answer to the number of golf-enthusiasts visiting the area, most of the world-class resorts found on the Eastern coast of Egypt gives their clients a chance to experience golf . Travelers will be able to enjoy courses from Hurghada and El Gouna to Sharm El Sheik and Taba Heights.

To be able to cater to everyone’s need, as an added feature, top of the line tour companies offers travel packages specifically created for golf lovers visitng the area. These will generally include top of the line accommodations directly in the resorts or hotels where the courses are located. For example, a ten day holiday might begin in Cairo and include a stay in one of the five-star resorts, tours of the pyramids and the city, and a day or two on the local courses. Guests might then head south or east in order to try golf in Luxor or along the Red Sea in Hurghada as well.

Though Egypt is not known as a golfing destination there are millions of people who come to the country for the reliable weather, the luxury accommodations, and access to beautiful golf courses with scenery that cannot be compared to anywhere else in the world!
